The case occured in October 2021 and 3 of the suspicious hunters was caught by the police and 1 was thrown in jail but I am not sure for how long he is gonna be staying there, about the others 2 I wouldn't be surprised if they are already free out in the streets like nothing happened. Tough Reality these wild animals have to go through. ![]() *This image is copyright of its original author
RE: Bigcats News - Dark Jaguar - 02-12-2022 (06-20-2021, 04:10 AM)Dark Jaguar Wrote: Luísa Caatinga female jaguar unfortunately gets trapped in a cave. AGAIN. More Sad News In the 18th November last year (2021), that warrior of a jaguar, the Caatinga old female jaguar named Luísa unfortunately died. ![]() *This image is copyright of its original author For those who don't know Luísa was a wild Caatinga female jaguar of 14-15 years old from Boqueirão da Onça - Bahia (Northeast Brazil), she sadly got trapped by people in a cave twice, the first case she was in a cave (trapped by local people) for 22 days without food and water, she was rescued only after a mega operation of the Amigos da Onça Project, Instituto Pró-Carnívoros and a Specialized Rescue Team after hard work managed to find the cave, Luísa was in dire conditions. Luísa then recovered in captivity, then she returned to the wild Caatinga, after a while she got trapped by people in a cave again but this time the person who trapped her informed Amigos da Onça Project the location where she was, and after she was rescued they sent her to NEX Sanctuary (as she was lacking dentition and others worn out which is terrible to survive in the wild) to be well taken care as she truly deserved but unfortunately she eventually didn't make it. NEX NO EXTINCTION ABOUT LUÍZA'S DEATH. ''We are very sorry to announce the death of Luisa. Luísa presented an acute renal failure. We did everything within our power, unfortunately without success. At the moment, we have no words to express our pain. We are very sorry. We thank to @icmbiocenap @ibamagov @amigosonca @institutoprocarnivoros @cbcampos8 @csgmartins @reprocon_org @rosegm9 @morato.ronaldo @jorgesalomaojr for entrusting Nex with the care of Luisa. May São Francisco receive you Luisa. With all the affection of the the world.'' RIP Warrior. Edit: unfortunately he’s still on the run RE: Bigcats News - Roflcopters - 09-03-2022 Bhopal: Madhav National Park gets ready for tiger reintroduction Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Preparations are in full swing at Madhav National Park in Shivpuri for tiger reintroduction plan.Forest department officers said that National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) has given permission of shifting tigers to Madhav National Park. The national park which currently has no tiger population now is likely to get the big cat this winter. In the first attempt, three tigers will be brought to Madhav National Park and thereafter two will be shifted. Speaking to Free Press, the park assistant director Anil Soni said that tiger reintroduction was underway. “We are hoping to get tigers by December. At least one pair of tigers including male and female is expected in the initial phase,” he said. Once the tiger arrives under reintroduction plan, Madhav National Park is expected to see more flow of tourists. When contacted, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF) JS Chauhan the total five tigers will be shifted to Madhav National Park. The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) has given its permission in this regard. It will be in the winter season that tiger’s will be shifted to the Park. Most probably, tigers which often venture into the Bhopal outskirts from nearby jungle are likely to be translocated. Likewise, tigers of Panna Tiger Reserve or Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve (Umaria), which frequently moves out of buffer zone, are also potential tigers to be selected for translocation to Madhav National Park. In the first attempt, three tigers will be brought to Madhav National Park and later two more will be shifted, said the official. https://www.freepressjournal.in/bhopal/bhopal-madhav-national-park-gets-ready-for-tiger-reintroduction?fbclid=IwAR0bg4NhBw1KUPKZf9wTc4WoPyrOv78MBYoPFFzCEai5n3kkdqMlGn2o0Oo#l7lgt8wvyha67xj2ic RE: Bigcats News - Lycaon - 10-14-2022 This is something. https://indianexpress.com/article/india/cheetah-deal-sought-indias-support-on-lifting-ivory-ban-namibia-8205271/ RE: Bigcats News - Matias - 10-15-2022 Although it is not possible to freely access the source of the information, I would venture to guess that formally there should be no evidence of a take-along partnership. They are very distant conceptions and not practical approach to conservation. Sustainability is intrinsic to Namibian conservation, a reminder, along with South Africa, how much we need to expand and diversify conservation tools. Namibia has a population that has not yet reached 3,000,000 million people while more than 1,000,000,000, without fences, live with wildlife. Who needs more encouragement, India or Namibia? Do not take this information into account. CITES meetings are filled with every comfort sustained by the Lobby of large animal rights organizations. Do not fear that Ivory or rhino horn will be commercially viable again. Take the case of South Africa, where more than half of the living rhinos are protected by the private sector, even without being able to finance this practice by the most profitable element that logic can suggest. As long as wildlife conservation is solely a government responsibility, there is no risk of this trade resurfacing. Living off the crisis is a fabulous business. Countries that don't have elephants, rhinos, lions... have a vote over those that do. It's where countries come together, in blocks of interests, to play with nations... their people, their assets, their landscapes. |
