RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Pckts - 10-08-2016 My money is on link 7 in the long run. He's a bit younger and he has munnas bloodline. "Warrior" is embedded in his DNA RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Tshokwane - 10-08-2016 (10-08-2016, 02:25 AM)Pckts Wrote: My money is on link 7 in the long run. He's a bit younger and he has munnas bloodline. I wouldn't be surprised. I think it is quite telling that 1- Despite being older, a bit more experienced and bigger, Bheema has not been able to make a definite statement vs the younger male, and that puts him at risk in some way. 2- At the same time, it is a clear show of self confidence the fact that Chota Munna has not backed down. Maybe last year it was still too soon, but now he's a bit bigger and much more bulkier and when he makes that final "Click" it will be time for a showdown. What it's not for doubt, is that both of them are beautiful tigers and, even more, are the future because like you said in the long run, they will have the advantage over the older males like Kingfisher and Umarpani. RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Roflcopters - 10-08-2016 Bheema is Kankatta's son and Kankatta was one of the most feared veteran of all time, also if you take into consideration. Kingfisher, Umarpani, Chota Munna and Bheema all have powerful bloodlines. RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - tigerluver - 10-08-2016 Do any Kanha tigers have the signature tiger scruff anymore? It seems to be completely eliminated. That's not a good sign in terms of the genetic diversity of that population. I know there are a couple of males from pench and Kahna that have "manes" but most do not. I'm not sure if that says anything new about the diversity though, quite a few males in mukki alone are from different blood lines. But I do remember one point in the post where they said Kahna was having a "female shortage" RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - tigerluver - 10-09-2016 @Pckts, interesting. Well a few bloodlines would not be diversity as it was meant to be before we took over the Earth. The lack of diversity has to expected, we're confining tigers to an invisible cage of sorts that is the reserve. I don't think there have many (or any) studies that checked out these individuals tiger populations. This one covered most of our favorite populations: mtDNA indicates profound population structure in Indian tiger (Panthera tigris tigris) RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Ngala - 10-09-2016 Photo and information credits: Anjan Lal Tigress Sonam at Telia Reservoir Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve India *This image is copyright of its original author Mutkasur Male Tiger Taking an Evening Stroll Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve India *This image is copyright of its original author Now Those Are Some Canines!!! RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Roflcopters - 10-13-2016 I believe Pckts posted a different version of this last week, Matkasur and Maya are back at it. I feel bad for Maya though. Its a miracle that one of the male cub even survived till this date. She mated with Navegon (May 2016) Gabbar (June 2016) Narsimha (july 2016 - theres no picture proof if he actually mated with Maya) and now Matkasur. Highlight of the video is 1:10, Matkasur is right in his prime and has gained a significant amount of weight compared to the beginning of the year.
