This is truly bad news for all involved.  Floppy has gone warp speed to Male Lionhood.  It's fascinating to see the degrees of Lion maturation.

Floppy is like barely 4 and he's mating and chasing and trying to carve out territory all by himself, and then you have the Kambula's at like 6 still meandering around without a care in the world.

Hi Gijima male lions did not kill a Ndzhenga male lion they injured.

Crazy and interesting encounter.

Not sure what FE tried to do, roaring in heart of Ndhzengas territory, I guess he got confidence boost from mating and killing that Kambula cub, so he pushed further, lions are opportunistic, they will test the water and see how it goes.

He might also be more confident as he knows Ndhzengas, he prob wouldnt do that in lets say Gijimas or PCMs territory.

As for Ndhzengas, and Amahle, i think he was more interested into K12 female than chasing/attacking FE, Amahle knows that he is barely a threat to them (unfortunatley he killed cub and injured another, but that happens).

Wonder if EO was there too in ambush how it would play out, would they mauled FE.

FE is not even 4 yrs old, and by the looks of it, already openly tried to challenge his fathers (who prob dont go 100% at him tho).

He also looks stunning, already size of Amahle (maybe even slightly bigger).

Hope his confidence doesnt cost him, Ndhzengas prob wont kill him, but others might.

Ye as crazy as this was, it was very much a stupid decision by FE, if that’s any other dominant males in that instant, barring the K4, he’s prolly dead this very second. Not even necessarily dominant males either, if he was to run into both KM and S.Avoca or NK and Khanya, they wouldn’t think twice about giving him a serious beating acting like this while being outnumbered.

Yeah i think he is more similar to Gore or Amahle. I think people mostly hope to be Ubuso's since he died earlier than the others, personally never saw any resemblance.

I dont think so. Its been years and ever since Floppy Ear is now a almost adult young male. His father and him very likely did not recognize each other. As you say i think its more likely Amahle did not want to take such risk by himself, and probably didn't even have a reason to.

they badly beat Ubuso and ever since he was never the same, pretty much not able to make a recovery until his demise. So yeah they killed him indirectly or one could even say directly, cause were definitly the culprits.

dont see why would there be any difference, its not like he thinks dad's are gonna go soft on him, dont think theres a reason for him to see them as his fathers. Its been quite alot of time, wasn't it?

They didn't directly kill him, but the injuries he sustained at that encounter are what eventually killed him.  Semantics, but the Gijimas are still the cause of his death.

I actually think Gore aswell.

He is still developing, we will know better when he fully matures.

Maybe, we dont know.

But, these guys might have much more encounters than we think over the years.

Maybe they dont know that they are directly fathers - son (they might not even care at this point), but i think they are familiar with each others, in some way. 

They are living in same area since FE's birth pretty much (its not like FE disappeared from Sabi Sands and now returned, he was always here, same as Ndhzengas).

Knowing how fierce Ndhzengas are, Amahles reaction towards him was quite "gentle".

As i said, i wonder how it would play out if OE was there aswell.

Health problems + Gijimas.

Before Gijimas fight, WN was limping on 2 legs, had that "black spot" on hips and occassionally struggled with weight (prob TB).

Healthy lion would recover from those injuries.

He was also around 9-10 yrs old, which didnt help either.

Wait... The N'Was 4 were of different ages?  I thought they were all the same age.  Ahmale and OE are just 10 now aren't they?

No, they are 9.

WN is not related to them, he comes from s79 pride, born around 2013 or 14.

He joined them in 2018 prob.

Even taking into consideration the mane which makes the fuller-maned male looks bigger, SYM looks bigger than Eorenji and at least around the size of Amahle.

He's very impressive for his age, both in personality and looks, all despite being a small cub/sub for a long time. I think he is turning 4 this month or the next one.

Anyway, it was bound to happen regarding Kambulas losing some cubs, the pride is rarely together according to MalaMala.

It's also interesting how Amahle was clearly focused on chasing SYM instead of actually fighting ( very common in these 1v1 encounters ), he didn't attack after SYM trips. If Eorenji was there though, chances are they'd go for the attack.

Kambulas barely tolerate their Ntsevu relatives, no surprise they don't tolerate K12 at all, and in the same way I doubt Ndhzengas realize SYM is their son, they'd go for him like if he was a random young nomad.
