One male you described seems particular to me because of its eyes. Very bright yellows eyes. Fascinating to see how expressive the lions can be. Its eyes give him a hangdog look, or perhaps something of sly, sneaky, look. I don't believe we can caracterise an animal's temperament through its look, but it's can be disturbing.

I wanted to reproduce here, below, a picture of the lion which we were talking about, but the picture is divided by a tools line... It is at the #148 post. I understand your photos are protected, and I finally would say they are beautifully expressive.

This is the third and least photgraphed of the old Skybeds. He is characterised by his lighter colouring, and nick in his left ear. First image at Ngala by Patrick Truscott, August 2006.

I think that male sired majority of Matimbas, very similar to S.Matimbas,Shaka and WhiteFace..
