It's proven that females are larger than males, so the only explanation I have is that there are some females who are probably larger and heavier. (and there are few if we take into consideration a few individuals with a grain of salt). I was looking at these photos of the specimen captured in Mallorca in March 1969. It looks like it could be at least 6 meters long in the measurement of TOT? If you notice the man in the white shirt at the shark's feet, it's just some math when the length of the shark is the same as the width of the man's shoulders?
