The Matshapiri Males - Jack-T - 10-19-2015 MALAMALA (16/10/2015) It's going to be difficult to sum up today in a short paragraph!! Lions: The Matshapiri pride joined up with the 3 lionesses from the Eyrefield pride who initially showed a lot of hostility towards the Matshapiri lioness. 2 Styx lionesses were near Stwise, a herd of buffalo to their east and further east of that were 2 members of the new coalition of 5 males. Down south we found the Charleston male with the injured jaw and there are reports of a dead male lion around Rocky Crossing. https://www.facebook.com/malamalagamereserve RE: Lions of sabi sands - Tshokwane - 01-15-2016 For the moment I'm unable to post regularly. But to make up for this, here's an introduction to a new coalition that has been for some time having a big part of lion life, achieving dominance over two prides and already having cubs sired by the females of both the Sparta/Eyrefield pride and the Fourways pride. Here there is some videos that show a hunt made by the two Matshapiri males and the Sparta pride by MalaMala Game Reserve. Another epic sighting of lions vs buffaloes with an unexpected twist! Part 1/7: 2 Eyrefield lionesses run in from the south and the Matshapiri pride attack from the north. Video by ranger Mike Kirkman Part 7/7: The final clip... RE: Lions of sabi sands - Tshokwane - 01-22-2016 MalaMala Game Reserve: January 21st. Lions: the 2 Fourways lionesses and the 4 young cubs were with the 2 Matshapiri males- all feeding off a sub adult buffalo kill in eastern Flockfield. The Eyrefield pride and their 4 cubs were south of Rattray's Camp. *This image is copyright of its original author It's nice to see how quickly these two boys cemented their dominance and alreadfy are fathers of 8 cubs, 4 in each pride. RE: Lions of sabi sands - LionKiss - 02-23-2016 #127 is a current photo? when is it taken? I am looking for injuries which might have been incurred by the fight with Ginger, RE: Lions of sabi sands - Shaudimela - 02-23-2016 (02-23-2016, 06:28 PM)LionKiss Wrote: #127It was taken in 2015.... Well in The matshipiri Facebook there is not recents pics!! RE: Lions of sabi sands - Tshokwane - 02-23-2016 Yes, I think it's a recent pic. I would be wary to judge anything just yet. I mean, it's true that Ginger is a big male and would give a hard time to any rival male, but the Matshapiri males are big males also, not as big as the Matimbas, but not much smaller than them. Although I would expect them to have some minor injuries like scratches and stuff, in a 2 vs 1 there are plenty of ways to avoid getting seriously injured.
