Four rarest leopards in one video! And they have a high ground.

Unique footage of a large family of Amur leopards. Via camera trap we can see mother and three cubs on top of the mountain. They met an unidentified mystery beast.
The mother notices the movement of an unknown object, which remains off-screen, nearby. Attracted by some other animal, the female leaves the cubs "under the supervision" of a camera trap and sets off for reconnaissance. Kittens carefully observe from a safe distance the interaction of the mother with the intruder. The little ones do not look scared - they do not take their eyes off what is happening and try to grasp every detail.
It is possible that this leopard found potential prey and went hunting to get food for the family and demonstrate the skills of an experienced predator to the kids. Although the object remains a mystery, scientists have learned that everything is fine with the family: they were recently seen by camera traps elsewhere in the Land of the Leopard National Park.

The current range of the Amur Leopard is Southwest Primorsky Krai.

Leopards are not found any place north of their current range.

'The Amur leopard is also not present in Sikhote-Alin Zapovednik, and so the estimate of carrying capacity using data from Miquelle et al. (1999) may more closely approximate the actual carrying capacity in the EWM.'

“Simba can be called a responsible owner of his territory. There are six trail cameras installed in its borders, and the first images of the five-year-old male were taken in 2013 in the central part of the Leopard Land National Park. Today, the national park’s archives have 137 shots of the now adult animal. Many photos feature Simba with his tail raised high, which definitely shows that he is in a decent mood.“ Some photos of Simba from The Far Eastern Leopard Programme website.

Beautiful young leopard in Primorsky Krai . The quality of this video is great it’s probably one of the best I’ve seen so far of wild amur leopards in action

Leopard #2, a male Amur leopard who was recorded in China in 2015. A paper from then showed that there were at least 21 individuals living in NE China, which is about a quarter of the amount of leopards in the Russian Far East. In total there would’ve been around ~120 individuals at the time. Not sure about right now though as I haven’t seen any recent papers on Chinese amurs. Currently there are ~100 recorded alive individuals in land of the leopard national park in Russia.
