RE: History most brutal killers, the Majingilane Male Lions - lioncrazy - 02-18-2017 Wow just read about the passing of one of the 4 kings!! the majis are my favorite of the coalitons we all keep tabs on. its sad but it's nature I hope people give hip scar his proper dues cause him and his brothers have ruled Sabi sands and surrounding areas with great presense after all these years they have sired and helped raise many many Cubs played by there own rules and it worked and I am grateful to have read and learned a lot about these special lions and nobody will forget hip scars fierce pale blue eyes R.I.P HIP SCAR RE: History most brutal killers, the Majingilane Male Lions - Polar - 02-18-2017 Yes, in fact many ancient (and some modern humans) do cannibalize any of their dead relatives, just like most carnivorous animals do. Nothing wrong with this. If it is from nature, then we humans can certainly adopt practices from the many wild animals out there. It is only this modern society that encourages us to be "babied" and abstain from our biological practices. Anyway... I give tribute to Hip Scar for living as long as he did with that debilitating injury. Even though injuries affect humans much more, Hip Scar's injury stayed the same or even slightly improved much after he first received it. He didn't try to kill himself like we would in a similar situation: if at all, this teaches us one thing...we are weak as heck in this modern world, physically, mentally, and emotionally...at least the ones living in it. The only humans who are as strong as their natural counterparts are the ones who directly encounter the natural world as their means of survival, and I call these humans wildmen. RE: History most brutal killers, the Majingilane Male Lions - achyut - 02-18-2017 Thank you Vinod for these updates. It is good to know that, HS was not attacked by other lions in the state he was in and he died of old age and of his hip condition. Also may be other majingis could have said there last good bye to their fallen brother. Life as we know though always move on. RIP Hip Scar. RE: History most brutal killers, the Majingilane Male Lions - Spalea - 02-18-2017 @vinodkumarn, @Tshokwane : Sorry with ma bad level english speaking, but I surely misunderstood the park keeper's account at #1001. When he told "He lay in long grass, completely intact, with no spinal spinal damage or any evidence of a cause of death other than just dying alone where he lay. This was verified by the vets we took there later.", I firmly believed that the brothers didn't feed on him. "There was evidence that his body had been moved about a hundred yards or so, and we think it could only have been his brothers who did this.". I really thought that they displaced him without eating it. Lions stay lions and I love them for what they are without judging them. RE: History most brutal killers, the Majingilane Male Lions - leocrest - 02-21-2017 RE: History most brutal killers, the Majingilane Male Lions - Tshokwane - 02-21-2017 Credits to Elephant Plains. This is the report for December 2016: The Birmingham males was also out and about this month. We were fortunate to have them on our property once or twice. They are looking great and are in good condition. They were roaring a few times announcing their presence in the area. All this was short lived, as the roars of the Birmingham males caught the attention of another formidable force. We were woken by the loud roars of lions the one morning. On drive, we found three of the Majingilane male lions on two buffalo kills in our traversing area. They stayed here for a few days before moving on again. In those few days, the Birmingham males did not call once. They also did not come back to the western part of their territory again. This tells me that they know that the four Majingilane males are still the big shots in this area. This was not the last we saw of these big males, as we found them again a few days later, on yet another buffalo kill close to our lodge. Although the Majingi males are almost twelve years old, they are still a force to be reckoned with. It was a treat to see all the different prides and to spend some quality time with the Birmingham’s and the Majingilane males this month.
