RE: Birmingham Pride of lions - Mabingilane - 09-09-2021

BYM and his sister (with two oldest cubs) will be turning 5 years old by the end of this Month - start of Oct.
He has been through a hell of a lot in just 5 years:

- Lost his dads.
- Lost all his brothers and sisters to mange, leaving just him and BYF.
- Ross males took over.
- Took a number of beatings from them over the years, which got a lot worse post 2019.
- Chased multiple times by both Ross Males.
- Was badly injured at 3.5 years old. An injury that he adapted well to.
- His sister matured and had offspring sired by the Ross Males.
- Left his natal pride and wandered alone.
- Met TYM. Allegedly chased him for a bit.
- Met him again and stayed together this time.
- Finally, he has a partner who is of  the same age.

Crazy to think that both these males both share genetics from the Birmingham Pride. BYM moreso directly of course, but young Torchy too from his Fathers' side.

Lets wish these two boys the best and hope they stay together and avoid tragedy (styx-nkuhuma).

BYM and his sister were born in October 2016. So, both will turn five next month.

The Ross Males have been on patrol so now they are resting. Tyson and Fabio are doing well, almost 11 years old.

Yes definitely dude. I remember we talked about this where we said October 2016 and not August 2016 like WE guides said. They were born around the start of October.
Back then, sightings were very few. They were seen in Late October 2016 and were said then to be "aprox 4 weeks old".
I remember Rangers on WE saying they were born in August but that was incorrect.
Very end of September/start of October is when White Dot likely gave birth.

RE: Birmingham Pride of lions - lionuk - 09-13-2021

In this sighting there are 5 male subadults and 2 Lionesses. The oldest of the subadults is very evident as he sits at the head of the table eating the carcass. He has a good mane and is about 4 and half years old.

Good to see the pride is doing well after the attack by the Mbiris males nearly two weeks' ago.

These members of the Birmingham Pride remain close to the waterhole. So the hunting possibilities are high. What is extra special is seeing both of the White Lions together. They are two magnificent Lions! Interesting to see how much bigger the male is. He is about 6 months older than the young lioness.

The photos of the white lions that have been posted here and in the other thread are simply magnificent!

How many white subadults are there in the Birmingham pride?

There are two white sub adults in the Birmingham Pride.   The Male turns 3 years old next month and the female in March of next year.

RE: Birmingham Pride of lions - Cunaguaro - 09-21-2021

The white Birmingham and his two brothers, who used to often enjoy the company of their older brother Birmingham Young male, who had formed recently a coalition with the Torchwood male, were seen near them and were expelled by the Torchwood male, while their older brother remained without any reaction and did not participate in that. It would be great if they joined them, who knows the wilderness is still full of surprises!

Some of the Birmingham pride subadults on a morning hunt. Notice how every single one is staring in a different direction looking and listening for any opportunity.

The oldest of the Birmingham breakaway young males. Looking well and healthy. His mane is looking much better than his brother/half-brother. The young Birmingham male.
