RE: the Matimba coalition - Skybed - 03-16-2016 sorry I mean killing one Trilogy male RE: the Matimba coalition - Ngala - 03-16-2016 I haven't found official news in the official sites regarding this informations about Matimba. Is this news sure in this FB page? I have some doubts. One trilogy male (second photo in the FB page) was died for natural causes, his bad condition are due to an injury on his leg a few years ago. (Taken from Kambaku River Sands FB page and written by a ranger, before he delete the images of Trilogy male in bad condition). RE: the Matimba coalition - Tshokwane - 03-16-2016 Please, do not believe this kind of crap. This is a post by some idiot fanatic that has no knowledge about lions, that likes the attention of people in facebook, so to get that he will do and say anything, including inventing stories just as that one. The injury of the trilogy male is probably similar to the one Hip Scar of the Majingilane has, a bad hip maybe due a misplacing of the foot during a hunt. As for the Matimba, you've read the idea the Tinstwalo Lodge has, maybe he was killed by rival males. I can't say it enough, don't believe it. RE: the Matimba coalition - Skybed - 03-16-2016 @Majingilane oic thks for the info. And yes I read the article by Tinstwalo Lodge although they wasn't certain too. Btw any idea what happened to one of the coalition members cause I sure the Northern Matimbas were 4 strong but the article only mention three. RE: the Matimba coalition - Spalea - 03-16-2016 @Majingilane: Let it be true, I only wish you're right. RE: the Matimba coalition - LionKiss - 03-16-2016 Hip Scar and the Trilogy male have this problem for years and it degenerates as time passes by, it happens the same to humans. the problem of the Matimba males happened quite sudenly, in one day we learned that one was killed and the other was injured very gravely by the Avoca males or that it happened by a buffalo, not straight forward explanations, then that the body of the dead Matimba was not found or it was decapitated with all this Trophy hunting in full swing and if we keep in mind that it is a legal activity in South Africa and that some Rangers had some hidden plans when they made the choice to help the wild life it is quite reasonable to suspect that there might a deliberate action to kill male Lions not with a gun this time. The best we can do is to leave the wild life take care of itself, if Kinky Tail is crazy and want to fight the 4 Majingilane alone let him do it, if Hip Scar wants to clibe trees let him do it, if MrT wants to fight the 4 Selatis please do. Wild Life has survived for thousand of years without us, every time we are involved is to exploit it and not to conserve it. He hasn't been seen since 2013, so he's presumed dead. RE: the Matimba coalition - Skybed - 03-17-2016 @Majingilane thks for the info RE: the Matimba coalition - Shaudimela - 03-17-2016 The Majingilane came roaring back onto Londolozi last night, and the sounds of them fighting with the Matimba coalition reverberated through the darkness at 4am this morning, not far from camp. As it stands, three of the Majingilane are currently on the Londolozi airstrip whilst the Matimba males appear to have retreated into the Sand River. How long until the Matimba males' tenuous hold on the area breaks? RE: the Matimba coalition - Skybed - 03-17-2016 The Majingilanes are such a dominant force in Sabi Sands. Can't speak enough of them brilliant! RE: the Matimba coalition - Ngala - 03-18-2016 From Londolozi Game Reserve, 18 March 2016: The Week in Pictures #223 by Trevor McCall-Peat "One of the Matimba males quenches his thirst after devouring a buffalo." *This image is copyright of its original author "A shivering stare as a matimba male watches over his kill. Playing with different angles can often give one a result far better than first imagined." *This image is copyright of its original author
RE: the Matimba coalition - NCAT33 - 03-18-2016 Unfortunately, the battles between these two coalitions are becoming more frequent with neither having a place to retreat due to younger and and larger coalitions surrounding them. The Matimbas and the Majingilane both are about the same age and time is running out on there reign. The N. Matimbas have already been removed, only time will tell when the S. Matimbas do the same.
