Male Lion climbing the nearest tree to escape a herd of buffalo about to kill him. This took place at Little Governors camp in the Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya.

According to source: The Lion couldn't climb higher than that...Eventually the buffalo moved away and he made his escape.

2 kudus males animals fight to the death for a female. They Mingled their big horn so badly that one broke his spine and the other could then not unlock itself. Photo is from Abu Camp in the Okavango delta, Botswana.

Africa's Fishing Leopards. An incredible series of shots taken by Abel Cuelho on an Earth Ark Safaris trip from Botswana's Savuti Channel. A few leopards have learnt the art of catching fish in the drying river. In fact the story had been well documented by the Natural History Film Unit which has released a great documentary on BBC about these cats, focusing on a female leopard who adapted to the changing conditions and taught her cubs to fish.

We have had a gala opening of Cheetah's last evening, followed by a lovely Leopard and her 4 month old cubs this morning along with a Lion pride feasting on a Hippo carcass. The icing on the cake has been the Cheetah hunt we witnessed last evening and while I type this post most of my clients are drooling over their catch.

This picture was shot in Samburu where a Leopard was resting on a tree while it was pouring heavily. Meanwhile a Reticulated Giraffe came closer to check out the predator and after nearing five feet, it ran away but not before I clicked this picture.

I know most of you are setting up for the gala evening tonight, while we will toast to a fabulous year that has ended with a bang for us. Wish you all a great celebration tonight.
