RE: Tiger Predation - Apollo - 05-07-2014 Nagarhole Tiger One of the most magnificent tiger sighting i ever had... This was a great sighting, as we witnessed a natural history moment, but unfortunately didn't had a chance to photograph tat, wer 4 dhole wer completely stood still infront of this tiger and the tiger was walking his path just within 4-5 feet to the wild dogs, i was surprised about both animals behavior, both tiger andd dholes were least bothered even with the distance of just 3 feet, and i have never seen a tiger of this size ever, but i knew tat nagarahole tigers are huge and it proved twice... *This image is copyright of its original author http://www.indianaturewatch.net/displayimage.php?id=462532 RE: Tiger Predation - Pckts - 05-07-2014 Which tiger is that? Looks familiar. Interesting about the interaction between dholes and this Tiger. Tigers seem to have no patience for dholes, from what I have seen. But every scenerio is different. RE: Tiger Predation - TheLioness - 05-07-2014 Tiger also looks fimiliar to me too. The ear is fimiliar. RE: Tiger Predation - Apollo - 05-07-2014 Im not sure which tiger is this. Ill try to check it out in the Nagarahole camera trap pics if possible. May be Rofl, Rage or Kingtheropod might know it. RE: Tiger Predation - Apollo - 05-08-2014 Machli when she was a 2 year old cub dragging a big carcass RE: Tiger Predation - Pckts - 05-08-2014 Machli was special from jump street. She is a supreme tiger. TFS RE: Tiger Predation - Apollo - 05-08-2014 Tigress and the Wild Dogs – High drama in the harsh jungles of Tadoba As narrated by Jignesh: Around 10am yesterday (9th Feb) the jeep from Svasara Lodge was near Jamni Chowk and saw some Wild Dogs “Dholes” crossing the road. There were 2 adult dogs and 4 pups. The Tigress was sitting inside a bush and the dogs probably didn’t see the Tigress. It seems one of the pups was ahead of the pack and went right near her. The Tigress attacked the pup and the rest of the Dholes starting screeching. Meanwhile, the visitors on the jeep could not see what happened inside the bush but only heard the noise of the Wild Dogs. Everybody assumed that the Dholes were fighting amongst themselves and hence all that noise. Then, they saw the Tigress coming out and noticed she was holding the limp pup in her mouth… She then walked inside the naalah with the pup still in her mouth. The other Wild Dogs followed the Tigress for some time but since they were not in a big pack, they did not confront her. *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author RE: Tiger Predation - sanjay - 05-08-2014 Great, Capture and Story. I was fortunate and lucky as well, to watch a young tigress stalk a wild boar in the Dhikala chaur, with the majestic Ramganga and the lovely elephants in the backdrop. The tigress stalked the boar right from the forest's edge till the water's edge. Ultimately the boar escaped... I was happy to capture a few frames.. *This image is copyright of its original author http://indianaturewatch.net/displayimage.php?id=477282 This is a very rare snap of a tiger and spotted deer together in a single snap. Usually we don’t find them together in a single shot. When we arrived at the spot, we thought is a normal with the spotted deer loitering in the jungle. But then we recognized that there is tiger behind the bushes. We all were astonished to see him and thought that we would get are first chance to shoot a tiger hunting for his prey. The tiger moved towards the dear….. The situation was very thrilling. We were very surprised to notice that there was no calling, and no chasing. The tiger just passed by the spotted dear just ignoring him. He didn’t even gave it a look, the dear was alert but he somehow knew that he as safe. Then we realized that the tiger might had his stomach full. There is unknown way of communication between the wild animals. We people have many disbelieves about the tiger. The tiger is not cruel, he does not kill every time and everybody who is in front of him. The tiger does not kills unless he is hungry. We go to the jungle with a particular mindset but each time we might not experience the same. It is very challenging to predict things happening in the wild. *This image is copyright of its original author http://indianaturewatch.net/displayimage.php?id=477112 RE: Tiger Predation - Apollo - 05-13-2014 Tigress carrying a chital kill in water *This image is copyright of its original author RE: Tiger Predation - Pckts - 05-13-2014 Nice looking tigress.
