Are you sure for the younger Mbiris? Didnt at that time S. Matimbas already spend most of their time south?

Sorry, I actually confused year when Matimbas split. It was by the end of 2012, not end of 2013 and so Southern Matimbas can not be fathers to younger Mbiri males.

The Matimbas were together until 2013

After death of second northen Matimba last remaining male from that coalition went nomadic, he did not remain in controll over Skorro pride. Second Matimba died in 2016 if I am not mistaken (correct me if I am wrong).

Shaka Matimba died in June 2016,some say to Skybeds, some to poachers, Slit Nose died in January 2017 after a fight with Avoca/Giraffe males, after that WhiteFace did control Scorro pride on his own until December 2017 when he passed away due to an old age.

Avoca/Giraffe males didnt oust Matimbas fully until they killed Slit Nose in January 2017,after that only Scorro pride was left in WhiteFaces control.

But this young male was born somewhere in late 2016, he could be sired by Matimbas, but we dont know who controled that pride them, and we dont know if Avoca/Giraffe males take that pride.

Shaka disappeared in January 2016 when the Giraffe males took control of Ngala. There was a report that his footprints were followed by the Giraffe males and it was assumed that they killed him, certainly he was never seen again.

That is correct, by February 2013 (according to Tintswalo) the Matimba males had largely split into two groups, the Northern trio (referred to as darkmane Matimbas) attending to the prides in Manyeleti and Ngala, and the Southern duo (referred to as blonde maned Matimbas) primarily attending to the Nkuhumas.

The Matimbas certainly didn't suffer from the same problem as the Mapogos, they spread their seed, a lot, and those babies were given a much better chance..
