I thought that maybe you would like to see this leopard fight.
One of this males, the older one, was called Mafufanyane. The other one is called Tyson or Marthly male, who is currently 13 years of age and a successful and territorial male for a very long time.

Tiger Fight! I think the names of this tigers are Shitoh, the one with the white belly and bigger, and Ron, the older and darker one. What I think it's interesting about this is the similarity between the way of fighting of leopards and tigers, though I risk to say that leopards are more ferocious.

These are Jon Varty's tigers, they are not wild but raised in S. Africa in a fenced sanctuary. Still a brutal fight, but wild tigers fighting to the death would be even more brutal, I think.
In regards to leopards, they are called the chainsaws of the cat world for a reason. They can possibly be the most brutal fighting cats of all, I have now seen male leopards take on 4 plus lioness at once and come out with realitive health, twice.
Their fighting prowess speaks for it self. But for a massive cat, tigers have a similar fighting style compared to them, but leopards are the most brutal and ferocious in my opinion as well.

Yes, it's true. I would like to see jaguars fighting, it must be quite the sight. But my guess is that it would be very similar to both tigers and leopards.
Many people like to point out that leopards prefer to flee a fight, get in a tree and avoid fighting. And most of the time they are right.
But when a leopard sets in his mind something, be it a hunt, or a fight with another male,even if the other is bigger, then you can bet that it will be hell on earth for the other male.

When I discovered this fight between these tigers few months ago I was very amazed too. Especially as Pckts told because these tigers were uprooted and not totally wild. The three fights above are impressive but I don't perhaps think that leopards are more ferocious, but being smaller and - I clearly think - suppler we can see them making some movements and sustaining some positions and contortions that both lions and tigers, more powerful and static, don't take.

Yes and maybe this is because their spine is more flexible and allows them to make such movements.
What I'm sure is that male lions fight in a totally diferent way. First of all they are gang fighters, and if they have the chance they will try to take their rival 3 against 1, or 4 against 2.
That makes me wonder how would a lion fight one on one?
Most of the fights capture like this one are little brawls between brothers when a female is in heat, and I think it's a rare ocurrence two males fighting to the death.

@"Majingilane" : In the big cat section, "Lion" subsection, you have a topic "Male lion kills another male lion". Everything can happen. Although unusual a fight to the death, one on one, is always possible.

I know @Spalea, I saw it, but it seems so rare. I mean, from years and years of observing wild lions everywhere and just one account of a one on one fight to the death? Yesterday I was reading the tiger directory and almost every tiger was involved in a fight with another one.
Of course, maybe it's supposed to be this way and that's why the lions form coalitions.

Living together and speaks about all of their personalities, he specifically states that Jaguars are lb for lb the nastiest and toughest fighters he has seen.

I think its just the differnce between lone predators compared to pack or pride hunters, like you stated.

I don't think any of the big cat's are more aggressive or atleast way more aggressive than the others! I can assure you @Majingilane that all dominate male lions you see here has been in fights over territory as well. lions will rarely fight to death alone because male lions usually never stays alone or takes over prides alone. And if one male is alone the ones that want's his pride usually comes in coalitions, and that makes it as it often is with lions unfair numbers, but if given a chance one on one the lion will fight just as ferocious as any other large cat. And I know more than one account of it happening, I'll try to find them tomorrow.

I've always wondered the backstory on this.
Where, when, who was involved, age etc.
This is the only picutre that exists that I know of and I have never read anything on the account.

I only saw this image once and I really thought it was photoshopped, mostly because I saw that same male holding a hyena like that. Like Pckts said, it would be great to hear the story behind that.
